Educational Programs

Outdoor Daytrips

The goal of our Educational Program is to serve local schools and educational organizations to provide students with an opportunity for learning, adventure, and outdoor experiences that they could not have in the classroom.  Students will need to wear comfortable clothing & athletic shoes that they are able to get dirty.  They will also want to bring a water bottle, sun screen & bug spray depending on the time of year.  Lunch is not included in the price, so students can either bring along a sack lunch, or classes can have lunch catered by a local restaurant.  (Chic-fil-A,  Pizza Boli’s and several other restaurants are within 10 minutes from the camp and make for easy lunch catering!)  Please see below to learn more about what we have to offer:

Our standard program is designed for classes with 20 – 36 students.  Class sizes larger than this are welcome, and a customized schedule will be developed with the Retreat Center Director to accommodate the larger group.  With the standard program, students are divided into 2 or 3 groups, with 10 – 12 students in each group.  They will then rotate through 3 activities, and have a 4th period of free play.  Two chaperones are required for each student group; one as an organizer & leader, and the other as a recreation assistant to help the Wabanna staff with the activity.  Please see below to review our sample standard program schedule:
