Food and Dining Info

Let's Eat!

At Camp Wabanna, we want groups to be able to relax and focus on the purpose of why they’re here. Therefore, we are happy to provide all meals for groups for the duration of their stay. Our meals are served cafeteria style, with groups sitting approximately 12 per table. If there are multiple groups at a meal, a section of tables will be reserved for each group so that guests can all sit together.

Our menus are uniquely created for each event by our Food Service Manager. While there is not a set menu for guests to pick from, any insight a group leader gives us is always taken into consideration. For example, if a large portion of your group is vegetarian, we will create a menu that serves more vegetables. Otherwise, our Food Service Manager takes into consideration the age and the type of the group(s), along with the season, and creates a simple but delicious menu that will be pleasing to the largest number of guests as possible. If anyone in your group has a food allergy, we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Meal Schedules

Info for groups and chaperones

Our large bell is rung approximately five minutes prior to the start of each meal, notifying all guests that the meal is about to be served. Typically, at the first meal, all guests come into the dining hall and are seated. Your Wabanna host will then have announcements, prayer and table dismissal. After that first meal, the bell will be rung and guests can just come in and go straight up to the serving lines help prevent long wait times and ensure meals operate in a timely manner.

  • Breakfast is served from 8:00 – 8:45am
  • Lunch is served from 12:30 – 1:15pm
  • Dinner is served from 5:30 – 6:15pm (Friday 6:30 – 7:15pm)

*On occasion these times may be altered to accommodate large groups, or if your group is the only group on property we can shift times by 30 minutes in either direction.

Camp Snacks

In addition to meals, we also have a variety of snack options for our groups! These range from setting up a s’mores station at your bonfire, to nacho bars and fresh fruit trays. Please see our SNACK MENU to see all that we offer.

  • Snacks cannot be set up or served during our normal meal times.
  • The location of where snacks are served is determined by the size and scope of the snack.
  • Snacks can be served between the hours of 9:30 am and 9:00 pm.

Groups also have the option of bringing in their own store-bought snacks and drinks. Groups are not permitted to cook their own meals at camp, or use portable cooking equipment such as crock pots or electric griddles. Groups ARE permitted to bring in their own coffee brewers or percolators.

A refrigerator, freezer, sink and microwave are available for groups to use. These items are available to any guest on the property, so please be sure to clearly mark anything that belongs to your group. Ice is only available at meals and can be retrieved by kitchen staff during those times.

Sunday Meals

Breakfast is the last hot meal available on Sundays. The standard check-out time for groups is 12 pm, however, if your group plans to stay longer there are several meal options available.

  1. Boxed Meals
Groups may order boxed lunches and/or dinners through Wabanna food service. If boxed lunches are ordered, the check-out is extended until 3pm. If boxed lunches and dinners are ordered, the check-out is extended until 9pm. Please inquire for pricing.

  2. Order Food from a Local Restaurant
There are several pizza shops and fast food restaurants nearby. Groups can order takeout for Sunday lunch or dinner, but must be completely self-sufficient with paper supplies, drinks and trash disposal. With this option, groups can add hours to the standard check-out time of 12 pm for an additional $75 per hour.

  3. Picnic or Cook Out
For Sunday lunch and dinner only, groups are welcome to bring in food to grill or cook out. There is no kitchen facility available and all supplies must be provided by your group. We do have 2 full sized fridge and freezers that groups can store items in as needed. As with option 2, additional hours can be added at $75 for every hour past 12 pm.

FAQ's

  • Can we grill out or have a picnic instead of having a meal at camp?

Unfortunately, at this time, we do not let groups bring in their own meals or cook food inside or outdoors with the exception of Sunday lunch or dinner. Please see the section above labeled “Sundays Meals” for more information.

  • Can we choose to skip meals at camp?

While guests are welcome to eat as much or as little as they’d like during their stay here, our weekend minimum pricing is a one night/three meal price that includes overnight lodging, food and a meeting space. Because of our package pricing, groups would pay that minimum even if they are staying the night but not eating any meals.

  • Can we order pizza?

While we don’t permit groups to order in food instead of having meals with us, your  group can order pizza for a late-night snack if desired.  There are several local pizza places nearby.
